Ethiopia Sidama G3 Bombe
Ethiopia Sidama G3 Bombe
The Testi Ayla Washing Station was founded in 2010, and serves around 375 smallholder farmers in and around the village of Bombe. Most of the farmers cultivate an average of 2.5 hectares of coffee in a growing season. The Sidama region in general is known for producing the most coffee at the highest grades in Ethiopia, which is largely a result of the geography. The high elevation, relatively cool temperatures, rich volcanic soil and ample rainfall provide optimal growing conditions, causing the coffee to ripen at a slower rate than anywhere else in Ethiopia.
